Lori and Kenny’s Bucks County Wedding
My first blog of the New Year is about a wedding I did back in September of 2012. I met Kenny and Lori only a few short months prior to their wedding. We sat for about an hour in our office going over what they are looking for with the music for their reception. Like most people I meet with they know some songs they want, but were also looking for help from me to fill in some of the blanks. When a couple decides to book Cutting Edge Entertainment for their wedding, we make it clear that our job begins months before the actual day. We spend hours with our clients on the phone, via email, and in our wrap up meeting going over music. While some other professional Wedding DJ companies may just have the bride and groom fill out an online planning guide, I feel part of my job is to make picking out the music as easy and fun as possible.
The wedding was held at the Pen Ryn Estates in Bucks County, PA. Like many weddings held there, the bride and groom chose to have their ceremony outside. Whenever a ceremony is outdoors I always suggest having us supply them a microphone. Especially on a breezy day, people sitting in the back may be unable to hear the officiant or the bride and groom as they say their wedding vows. I was also able to hook their keyboardist into our sound system to ensure everything can be heard clearly.
The photographers for this event were John and Doris from Costello Photography. In fact, they were nice enough to refer Kenny and Lori to Cutting Edge Entertainment. We have worked with John and Doris at many different weddings over the past few years, and they are one of my favorite photographers to work together with. They had their work cut out for them, as the dance floor was filled with guests dancing and partying. I had a great time at this wedding, because I played a lot of different music from different genres, eras, and artists. Everything was played from Cab Calloway, to The Beatles, John Legend, Calvin Harris, and Rihanna. I love my job and it is especially fun for me when the bride and groom along with their guests are open to many different types of music.
