Mary and Matthew’s Manor House Wedding

Philadelphia Wedding DJ

Mary and Matthew were one of the most memorable – and perhaps one of my favorite – couples whose wedding I got to DJ this past summer. I enjoyed working with them because they were so excited for their wedding reception and also very easy to get along with, and enthusiastic couples always make for a fun party.

This wedding was held at the Manor House at Commonwealth, and I had the chance to work with the very awesome Jennifer, Cristy, and rest of the incredible staff. It is important that there be plenty of communication between the catering staff/kitchen/facility and the Wedding DJ, to ensure that the event runs smoothly. At this wedding, I knew that once guests were seated, they would be immediately served their delicious meal. The best run weddings are the ones where there is no stop in the action, everybody is either watching a formality (such as the first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, etc.), eating, or on the dance floor.

There were a lot of guests on the dance floor at this wedding. I believe a lot of that had to do with the bride and groom. Sometimes I scratch my head when I see people at parties just sitting watching… or even worse on their smart phone texting. I don’t understand why anybody would get all dressed up, to go out and sit. In my opinion, they must be the same people who put on a bathing suit and go to the beach without ever going in the water. However, at this wedding reception Mary and Matthew were on the dance floor the majority of the night, and all of their friends and family that loved them were right there with them.

The day after her wedding the bride went on the Knot and wrote the following testimonial:

We could not have been happier with our choice of DJ for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. We had Richie Abrams as our DJ, who did a phenomenal job! He was extremely professional, did a great job at making sure everyone got on the dance floor, and everyone raved about the music that was played. Everyone was on the dance floor at some point, from 5 year-old kids to 60-year-old parents all night. This was also a Sunday wedding, so we were nervous not everyone would be up and dancing, but Richie did not disappoint. We only gave Richie a few “do not play” songs, but told him he could do whatever he thought needed to be done to get people on the dance floor. We were beyond happy with our full dance floor, and had such a blast at our wedding! Thanks Richie, and Cutting Edge Entertainment!

Thank you again to Mary and Matthew, and I wish you all the best in your life together as husband and wife.
