Dancers, and a Photographer’s Vision
Recently I had the opportunity to be a part of a photo shoot with the good folks of Cutting Edge Entertainment. Although I did not know much about the journey that I was soon to embark on, I embraced the opportunity with open arms, because anyone who knows me knows that I always appreciate a good photo of myself. As we arrived in a wooded location, I was a little afraid of what was to come. We tread down a dirt pathway that led under a bridge, and were soon greeted by an eccentric graffiti wall. With a look of relief we all knew, we were had arrived.
The photo shoot went smoothly as we tried different poses and positions, action shots and stoic model stances. The mood was one of high, pure energy and excitement with several of my fellow cast members leaping randomly and whimsically through the air. For me, this posed a bit of a dilemma, as whimsical is not really my ‘thing’. Personally, I like to think of myself as the ‘suave’ laid back guy and felt it hard to get into some of the silly actions going on around me.
Nevertheless, the people of Susan Beard Design were great to work with, and had a unique and creative vision that made the whole experience worthwhile and fun. Although I was out of my element, the shots that were nothing short of amazing (Susan even granted me my suave shot, as seen below). Their concepts for some of the images were fairly easy for my fellow compatriots to execute with flawless precision.
I look forward to working with Susan Beard and her team again in the future and receiving more pictures of myself to grace my already overflowing portfolio.
