Liz and Roger’s Philadelphia Wedding
In September of 2013, I had the honor of being chosen as the Wedding DJ for Liz and Roger’s wedding reception, which was to be held at the Le Meridien Hotel, in Center City Philadelphia. The first time I met Roger and Liz was actually a few years prior at the wedding of Roger’s sister, for whom I was also the DJ. They remembered having a great time at the reception, so when Roger proposed and they began planning their wedding, they contacted me. At the wedding I had the opportunity to reconnect with Roger’s sister and her husband, and meet their son, who was the ring bearer at this wedding. This was the first time I had seen them in a few years and it was awesome to catch up. Now with Facebook, it has become a little easier to stay in touch with past clients, which is something I really enjoy.
This wedding had a wide range of guests and all ages were out on the dance floor immediately once dinner concluded. Of course, having the bride and groom out there partying always makes it easy to get others to join in, as all the guests love to dance with the guests of honor. I played dance hits by artists from a broad range of eras, from Chubby Checker, to Michael Jackson, and current hits from artists like LMFAO, making certain to accommodate everyone. This was a very fun wedding to DJ, but that’s easy to say when you have a crowd like this one.
The staff at Le Meridien did an excellent job accommodating the roughly one hundred-plus guests, and is a really nice venue located right in the heart of Center City Philadelphia. The photographer for the evening (and the entire wedding) was the very talented Kevin York. Over the past few years I have gotten to know Kevin – who is an awesome photographer – and someone I consider a good friend.
