Meredyth and Scott’s Pearl S. Buck Estate Wedding
Some of my favorite weekends of the wedding season are those I get to spend with multiple brides and grooms; working a double is exhilarating for an MC/DJ. It might sound like twice the work and twice the prep, but to me, it is all the more fun packed in one weekend. I got the opportunity for such a weekend in September and would love to take you on the journey with me. The most unique thing about this double though is I got to work at two of the most beautiful venues around with the common theme of the incredible staff at Jamie Hollander Catering. The Pearl S Buck Estate, in Bucks County, played host to the first of the weekend, the wedding of Meredyth and Scott. Friday September 20th on a beautiful fall evening, our bride and groom were married on the spacious grounds of the Estate.
During our wrap up meeting, aside from the warning of a big dancing crowd, Meredyth and Scott told me they were big gamers. Not your typical gamer, but experts in musical chairs. Instead of a Bouquet and Garter Toss, we decided to do something more interactive and more fun, and have a guy and girl game of musical chairs. As host, I promised to bring next level intensity, as both heats went on. As you will see below, the ladies were actually a bit more physical than the guy round. All in all, much fun and laughs were had at and with the contestants and the winners were rewarded with a growler of beer, brewed by a very dear family friend of the Bride and Groom.
When it came time to dance however, the large crowd of over 200 guests poured on to the dance floor. From oldies sing along songs to some of the early 2000’s music the generation we (the bride and groom and I) are a part of, guests kept the floor packed all night! It is extremely rewarding for me as an MC/DJ to have the freedom to move about the eras of music and have a crowd that responds to you no matter what.
Rachael, thank you for being so communicative throughout the evening! You and the rest of the staff at Jamie Hollander made our job that much easier. Always a pleasure working with folks that are among the best in the business! The photos were possible because of Hope Hellmuth Photography; thank you for being such a breeze to work with. I want to also give a shout out to our videographers. You two made the night that much more fun, and you are true professionals.
And of course to Meredyth and Scott, wishing you the best life has to offer in your future as husband and wife!
