Bernadette and Brad’s Wedding DJ
It is not often I can blog about a wedding only a few days after it happens, however, when you get to work with an awesome photographer and friend like Jen Cleary, who hooks us up with event images right away. This past Saturday I was the DJ for the wedding of Bernadette and Brad. They were referred to me by their good friends who used me as the DJ for their wedding about three years prior. With that recommendation and an awesome initial meeting, they booked me to rock their reception.
Working with the bride and groom before the wedding is an important part of my job. Every reception is different and my goal is to give my clients the party they have always envisioned. Since the bride and groom, know the music they love to sing and dance to, meeting with them beforehand allows me to go over these details. While some DJs may have you just submit online wedding forms, and then you meet for the first time at the event. I want to get to know and meet my clients’ weeks before the reception. Not only to go over music, but I also want to give the bride and groom a chance to get to know me. Hopefully they become comfortable and confident in my Wedding DJ skills, and they can also get to know me as a fun, outgoing person who is passionate about his work. With this piece of mind, they won’t need to worry about the music the day-of, instead they can relax and be guests at their wedding.
With all the prep work done, I had everybody on the dance floor at Brad and Bernadette’s wedding. I played everything from Chubby Checker’s “The Twist” to “Summertime” from DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. A little bit of everything was played to keep all the older and younger people happy.
Congrats to Brad and Bernadette you were totally awesome to work with, and I look forward to seeing you both at future parties… on the dance floor!
