Samantha & Josh’s Cairnwood Wedding
Another wedding blog post from one of the wedding DJs here at Cutting Edge Entertainment. I was at Cairnwood – my home away from home – for Joshua and Samantha’s wedding on July 1, 2010. The wedding took place on a Thursday night, which worked out well because the majority of the guests had off the next day and were able to start their holiday weekend early with a great wedding to celebrate. The couple also added up lighting to their wedding package, and the lights were glowing all over the mansion, really adding to the ambiance of the stately manor.
The night began with the ceremony, held out on the front steps of the mansion. We provided all the of music and sound needed for the ceremony. After the bride and groom said their vows, we moved to cocktail hour, which is held, well, really all over the mansion. It gives a chance for people to explore historic Cairnwood, where there is much to explore. the guests then moved to the terrace for the introductions of parents, bridal party, and of course the bride and groom. Once the introductions were over the newlyweds had their first dance. The guests then were treated to a great dinner outside on the deck, catered by Feastivities. When dinner was over, everyone came back inside for the cake cutting and parent dances, and then it was time to party. It helped to have a great DJ on hand because the music was great and the dance floor was packed all night.
Of course, a few thank you’s are in order. First – of course – to Dan and his staff that night from Feastivities. Lately it seems we are getting the opportunity to work together more and more, and it’s great. It seems we work seamlessly and comfortably, and we share the same goal; The success of the event. I also worked with Kylene of Leave It To Me Photography. She did a great job and the pictures came out fantastic. I’m grateful she shared some of her photos to feature on our blog. I also of course need to thank the bride and groom. They did a great job putting together a dream team of excellent vendors. It was definitely a memorable wedding that I won’t forget and I’m confident their friends and family feel the same way. Last but not least, I had a special guest DJ. My good friend and Cutting Edge Entertainment co-MC Pedro, who I don’t often get the chance to work with and we made a great team. Thanks Pedro!!
