Joe’s Bar Mitzvah at The Fuge

For Joe’s Bar Mitvah at The Fuge, Event Designer Jen Angelo put together a rock star team with Photographer Jackie Bayne, CinemaCake Filmmakers, The Creative Juice Group and of course, Cutting Edge Entertainment’s MCs, DJs, Dancers and Percussionist.  The event was held at The Fuge, perhaps the most unique event space in Bucks County.   For this Bar Mitzvah reception, we assigned two of our top Mitzvah MCs – Tony and Shoshana – to co-MC, and whose words below best describe this incredible event.

Returning to do a second or third party for the same family is the highest compliment, and privilege, that an MC can receive in this business. When event planner Jen Angelo contacted us, saying that Laurie and Jeff wanted Cutting Edge Entertainment to do their second son’s mitzvah, I could not have been more flattered. I had the honor of doing Nick’s bar mitzvah a few years ago (which you can read about here) at the home of Laurie and Jeff. The party rocked until the early morning hours, and I am pretty sure that the local USGS office picked up the ground shaking party on their seismic monitors. I could not have been more excited to sign on for round two for their son Joe.

Instead of shaking the ground this time, Joe decided to take his party into the stratosphere, having his party at The Fuge. The Fuge is an old centrifuge in Bucks County, PA, that was used to train astronauts. It has since been converted into an amazing event venue. During cocktail hour, guests were allowed to tour the building to learn its history, and even sit in the same centrifuge that trainees would sit in for their space flight tests. Cocktail hour was complete with multiple lounges, one for the kids (filled with arcade games and Ping-Pong), and one for the adults (complete with living statues and carnival performers).

After cocktail hour, we brought the guests into the main party area of the Fuge, complete will multimedia lighting and a glowing dance floor. After Joe & his family were introduced, Joe went through his candle lighting, and the party began. An aerialist performed a breathtaking routine, suspended high above the dance floor, which was met with immense applause, and really put electricity in the area. Everybody was ready to dance. For the rest of the night, all the guests (kids and adults too!) jammed out on the dance floor until their feet were ready to fall off! The music being mixed by the DJs was given another element of life, as our live percussionist Ben played along on his elaborate drum set. My adrenaline was still going when it was time to go home, and I could have danced for another three hours!

A HUGE congratulation to Joe and his whole family, and I look forward to seeing y’all for Sam’s mitzvah in a couple of years!

I also had the opportunity to co-MC this party with one of my best friends, Shoshana. She is truly an incredible performer, and I will do an event with you any day of the week my friend! Our dancers, Nate and Ruthann will amazing as always, and the DJs, Matt & Jared, provided the heartbeat of the party with the fantastic music.

Thank you to Jen Angelo once again, Jackie Bayne, Cinemacake Filmmakers and everyone at the Fuge!

Check out the video clip from the party below!!

Walking into the Fuge, I didn’t know what to expect ( have you ever seen that place? It’s a real centrifuge! Totally cool!). I had worked with the Franz family before, so I knew that whatever was in store for the night was going to be pretty epic; those people know how to throw a party!

Once the party started and all the formalities were through (oh you know, candle lighting, speeches, the Hamotzi and Kiddish… All the stuff that I know the kids look forward to…) the energy was infectious. There was not a single moment that the dance floor was empty and everyone, both kids and adults included, looked like they were having a blast. You know a party is great when you look down at your watch can’t believe you have less than an hour left.

Working with planner Jen Angelo, Photographer Jackie Bayne, CinemaCake Filmmakers and the staff of The Fuge was a pleasure and the night ran as smoothly as possible. It was an honor to be included and share in the simcha!
